I was with 1/1 H&S Bn Supply from Oct 69 to Feb 71. On Nov 10 69 I was on a patrol, the patrol leader who I think I have found out was RR Raske stepped on a toe popper. Don't know if they were able to save his foot. Always wondered how he made out. We were setting up a listening post only a click or two from the battalion area in area with a low masonry wall and one small shelled out masonry building. I believe he was a sgt from 81's or 106's. Does anyone remember him or know anything. Thanks for the help.

Am writing a book about Marine Sgt. Freddy Gonzalez and am looking for guys who knew him that I may not have spoken with for the book. Can anyone tell me how to get in contact with General Ray Smith, who was LT Ray Smith in Vietnam during Hue? I wrote a self-published book on Gonzalez three years ago but it was not done too well by the publisher, and a major publisher has agreed to re-print it with modifications and additions. I have about two more months to complete my work and send in the manuscript to them, with photos. Thank you, John Flores
