S-4 was supply and logistics. They were suppose to supply you with the equipment to do your job. For people outside of supply, it seemed that they only had what you didn't need. They wanted to give you what you wanted, they just didn't have it and couldn't get it. By the time they got it, you didn't need it any more, or had obtained it through alternative means. The best source of utilities, magazines and K-bars were from people that were rotating home.
